On Thursday, April 18, 2019, Michaela Lancer and John Gardella spoke at a lunch event sponsored by the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association’s (MDLA) Toxic Torts Committee on the topic of glyphosate. The presentation was entitled “Glyphosate: Emerging Litigation Trend in MA and Beyond.” 

Michaela and John’s presentation examined several questions in the glyphosate litigation: What is glyphosate? Is the science clear-cut that it causes cancer in humans? What do regulatory bodies say about glyphosate exposure levels? How has all of this come together in the past year after the first jury verdict in California to expand the scope of claims that are being filed, and what are the possible “next waves” of the glyphosate litigation? How will all of this impact toxic torts cases in Massachusetts?
