Event Details

CMBG3 Law Founding Partner Jeniffer A.P. Carson will speak at the Emerging and Environmental Claims Managers Association (EECMA) annual conference at the Loewe’s Sapphire Falls Hotel in Orlando on April 27, 2017 from 10:00am – 10:30am in the Grand Caribbean Ballroom.

Mrs. Carson’s session, Carcinogen Classifications: Update, Impact and How Effectively Used At Trial, will provide information on how various world health organizations classify various alleged carcinogens, such as talc, asbestos, benzene and silica. Together with Attorneys Edward P. Abbot and Anissa M. Mediger, Mrs. Carson will address recent updates to classifications and juxtapose everyday items with similar classifications for comparison, which will help a jury understand the degree of toxicity for particular substances. Further, the panel will discuss how to offensively and defensively use specific classifications at trial, with special attention paid to recent tactics used at trial in the ongoing talc litigation.

EECMA is an association of major and minor, domestic and international, property and casualty insurers and reinsurers. The members of EECMA are focused on continued education about the many issues surrounding environmental, asbestos, and other long-term exposure litigation that continues to challenge the members and their policyholders.
