CMBG3 Hosts DEI Expert Jermaine Moore On Unconscious Bias Training

Feb 12, 2021 | Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, News

On February 12, 2021, over 90% of the CMBG3 team was able to participate in a training session on unconscious bias with Jermaine Moore, founder of the Mars Hill Group. Mr. Moore has spent two decades working with companies of all sizes, including Fortune 500 companies, on diversity initiatives.

The interactive session focused on educating the CMBG3 team on unconscious bias (what it is, what types of the bias exist, etc.), helping the team to understand how those biases may play a part in our own way of thinking, and how those biases impact our relationship and interactions in the work and social environments. Mr. Moore also discussed best practices for ways to combat these biases.

CMBG3 is thrilled to have a partnership with Mr. Moore, and is committed to having Mr. Moore have several dialogues with our team on various diversity, equity and inclusion topics.  Our next session with Mr. Moore will focus on the topic of “courageous conversations”, aimed at helping the CMBG3 team comfortably engage each other and our teams. Many of us hesitate to have these conversations out of fear of saying the wrong thing or giving the wrong impression. This session will offer strategies to help ensure these conversations are healthy and productive. We will cover:

  • Strategies for facilitating conversations on sensitive topics
  • Fostering healthy, productive relationships through dialogue

CMBG3 is proud to be a majority women-owned law firm and we are sincerely committed to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives not only in our firm, but in the legal community and society as a whole.
