On December 3, 2021, the CMBG3 team was able to participate in an interactive session titled “Managing Stress & Beating Burnout” with Jermaine Moore, founder of the Mars Hill Group. Mr. Moore has spent two decades working with companies of all sizes, including Fortune 500 companies, on diversity initiatives. During the session, Mr. Moore addressed the following topics:
“Burnout is defined by WHO as “a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.” This language acknowledges that burnout is more than just an employee problem; it’s an organizational problem that requires an organizational solution. In this workshop participants will learn how stress differs from burnout, understand what causes burnout, learn how to identify burnout in themselves and others, learn strategies to mitigate stress and avoid burnout, and explore how to respond to others who are struggling.”
CMBG3 is thrilled to have a partnership with Mr. Moore, and is committed to having Mr. Moore have several dialogues with our team on various diversity, equity and inclusion topics. Mr. Moore’s conversation with out team about identifying stress and burnout signs, and tips to managing stress and burnout were invaluable to our entire team.
