David Goldman and Kendra Bergeron To Present On The Next Wave of Litigation In Rhode Island – Talc!

Apr 10, 2017 | Events

CMBG3 Founding Partners David A. Goldman and Kendra A. Bergeron take a forward-thinking look at the next wave of tort litigation in Rhode Island and will present on May 12, 2017 at a panel discussion entitled The Next Wave of Toxic Tort Litigation In Rhode Island? Let’s Talc!

Attorneys Goldman and Bergeron, in conjunction with Rhode Island plaintiffs’ counsel John Deaton, will educate attendees regarding chemical and geological considerations associated with talc, and how those considerations lead to the use of talc in both consumer and industrial applications. They will also take a close look at the explosion of consumer talc cases (ovarian cancer cases), the burgeoning industrial talc cases (mesothelioma cases), the defenses applicable to talc cases, an analysis of the talc verdicts from across the country, and how the talc litigation will impact the Rhode Island litigation. This is a unique opportunity to hear perspectives from both defense counsel and plaintiffs’ counsel on these issues.

David and Kendra’s presentation is sponsored by the Rhode Island Bar Association and is approved by the MCLE Commission for 2.0 hours of Rhode Island CLE.

The presentation will take place on May 12, 2017 at the Rhode Island Law Center, 41 Sharpe Drive, Cranston, RI from 12:30pm – 2:30pm. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will also be webcast live. For more information and to register for either in-person attendance or attendance via live webcast, please visit the Rhode Island Bar Association website.
